President of Moldova's Action and Solidarity Party conveys congratulatory message to new president of Romania's National Liberal Party

The president of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Igor Grosu, has conveyed  a congratulatory message to the new president of the National Liberal Party (PNL) of Romania, Ilie Bolojan. The PAS leader assured that he, along with his team, would support the development process of Romania.

Igor Grosu highlighted that the PNL team had played a decisive role in shaping Romania today—a member state of the EU and NATO.

“Congratulations, dear friend Ilie Bolojan, on the vote received from the National Liberal Party to lead the oldest political party in Romania. I am glad to have been alongside you and the PNL team—the team that decisively contributed to the present Romania—a member state of the EU and NATO, where the values of liberalism are the cornerstone,” said Igor Grosu.

He also said that the Moldova and Romania had repeatedly proved their ability to unite “in critical moments,” in order to protect peace and democracy.

“We, the people of Moldova, stand with you. We know the important mission we have. Just as Moldovans elected for Romania in last May, they will elect in September in Moldova, because there is no alternative to European integration! We have proved our ability to unite in critical moments. We know how to protect our peace and democracy. Let us learn from each other. Let us be united, defend each other. As partners. As friends. As brothers and sisters. Thank you for your support and God speed ahead!” said Igor Grosu.

The extraordinary congress of PNL elected Ilie Bolojan as the president of the party. He was the only candidate for the position. Among the goals of the new party leadership, there are: reforming and modernizing Romania, sustainably increasing the standard of living, governance closer to Romanians, including the Diaspora ones.
