Moldovan parliament speaker meets Romanian Senate president

Parliamentary elections will take place in Moldova in next September—a key moment for the pro-European destiny of Romanians from beyond the Prut River. Romanian Senate President, Mircea Abrudean conveyed a message to this effect, at a meeting with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu in Bucharest.

The Romanian official said that he supported the Moldovan authorities in their fight for democracy, unity and accession to European structures.

"I received the visit to the Senate by Moldova’s Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu. The two states have a close collaboration, and we continue to work together in important areas for the implementation of bilateral infrastructure projects under implementation. In next September, parliamentary elections will take place in Moldova—a key moment for the pro-European destiny of Romanians from beyond  the Prut River. I support the Moldovan authorities in their fight for democracy, unity and accession to European structures. We stand alongside them," emphasized Mircea Abrudean.

For his part, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, thanked "for the focused discussions."

Speaker Igor Grosu paid a visit to Romania, where he participated in the extraordinary congress of the National Liberal Party and had more official meetings.
