Moldovan president chairs meeting of National Commission for European Integration
President Maia Sandu today chaired a meeting of the National Commission for European Integration (CNIE). The participants in the event reviewed progress in implementing the reforms undertaken on the path to EU accession, the state of implementation of the National Accession Programme for the first months of the year, and developments in the negotiation process.
The head of state asked the European Integration Office to prepare and publish a report on the current implementation of the National Accession Programme for the period 2025–2029.
The Moldovan president called on all institutions — central public authorities and local public administration — as well as civil society and the private sector to stay mobilized and to coordinate their efforts more closely, in order to maintain the pace of reforms and to make full use of the window of opportunity that Moldova has in the process of accession to the European Union.
The participants in the meeting also adopted the Regulation on the organization and work of the Commission and updated the composition of the CNIE. The next reporting within the CNIE is planned for July, 2026.
