Moldovan PM presents country's priorities in Davos

Prime Minister Dorin Recean has presented the outcomes of the World Economic Forum in Davos. He said that Moldova's priorities were addressed, focusing on job creation in the country, ensuring energy independence and international community support to overcome the crisis on the left bank of the Dniester.

The premier said that in Davos he met with political and business leaders to discuss possibilities and opportunities for development in the Republic of Moldova, aiming to create more jobs so that citizens have stable incomes to grow and develop.

Also, the official discussed how the international community can help the Republic of Moldova overcome the crisis created by the Russian Federation, specifically by not delivering natural gas to the left bank of the Dniester.

“I am confident that together with our friends we will be able to overcome the challenges,” Recean said.

Another priority concerns ensuring Moldova's energy independence and the need to diversify energy sources. “It is important to strengthen our energy independence, to diversify the sources of energy production and supply both in terms of natural gas and electricity, including that generated from renewable sources,” Recean said.

Recean led the Moldovan delegation to the 55th edition of Davos Economic Forum, held on January 22-23, on Collaboration for Smart Era.

The event brought together nearly 3,000 leaders from over 130 countries, including 350 government officials and 60 heads of state and government from all major regions.
