Moldovan PM says government in next April to come up with concrete plan on use of money provided by EU
Prime Minister Dorin Recean has appreciated the assistance worth 1.9 billion euros on behalf of the European Union, noting that, in next April, the government would come up with a concrete plan on the use of the money provided.
„On the past days, I discussed with Director General of the Neighbourhood and Enlargement Directorate General of the European Commission Gert Jan Koopman the projects from the Growth Plan. Also today, the European Parliament adopted, by majority vote, this support facility for Moldova. Our country will receive assistance worth 1.9 billion euros, of which the first installment will come in late next April. This money is not just figures on paper – it means investments in big projects, with important benefits for citizens, such as 3,000 km of repaired road, 35 model schools, industrial platforms, where factories and plants should come to create jobs,’’ the PM said.
According to Recean, this is what the European Union is about – a family which supports us when we need and which invests in our future.
„In the next month, we will come up with a concrete plan on the use of the money provided,’’ the prime minister said.
The European Parliament today voted for the Growth Plan for Moldova worth 1.9 billion euros – the biggest support package ever provided to the country. The funds will start being allocated as of next April, providing an essential support for the economic development, modernization of the infrastructure and consolidation of the reforms needed for the accession to the European Union.
