Romanian PM calls for speeding up Moldova's EU accession talks

It is necessary that, at the European Union’s level quick solutions are found for opening the first negotiation clusters with Moldova, and Romania firmly supports this goal. Romania's Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan today made statements to this effect, after a meeting with Prime Minister of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu.

‘’We support also the reform commitments of Chisinau, necessary not only in the accession process, but especially for the development of Moldova. It is important that, at the EU level, we quickly find solutions for opening the first negotiation clusters with Moldova, and Romania firmly supports this objective,’’ noted the Romanian PM.

Ilie Bolojan emphasized that Romania had been, was and would remain the strategic partner and closest supporter of Moldova. The official assured that joint projects would be continued and deepened.


At the same time, Ilie Bolojan stressed that Romania would continue to be a strong voice and a supporter of Moldova's progress along its European path.

‘’We will work closely with your government, because joining the European world is the only option that can meet the future aspirations and enhance the living standards of Moldova’s citizens,’’ the prime minister of Romania informed.

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu is visiting Bucharest today; this is the first foreign visit since taking office.
