Shor Party MPs to further exercise mandates as independent parliamentarians
Chisinau, June 22. /MOLDPRES/- Shor Party MPs will continue to exercise their mandates as independent parliamentarians. A draft decision was adopted today by the Parliament with 56 votes, by which the parliamentary formation was liquidated, in line with the 19 June decision of the Constitutional Court.
The parliament adopted the decision, after the Constitutional Court (CC) declared the formation as unconstitutional. "It is an absolutely necessary decision, as we are cleaning the Parliament from criminal groups. The decision is supported in order to execute the decision of the CC", Speaker Igor Grosu said.
Under the document, the modification of the nominal composition of the standing bureau, parliamentary commissions and parliamentary friendship groups was approved. At the same time, the phrase "Shor parliamentary faction" was replaced with the phrase "independent deputy". Draft decisions enter into force on the date of adoption.
On June 19, the CC declared the Shor Party as unconstitutional. According to the decision, the formation is considered dissolved. Thus, no act of the party issued until the Court's decision is pronounced has no legal value. The Ministry of Justice will appoint a commission to liquidate the party, which will take all the necessary measures for its liquidation and deletion from the state register of legal entities. At the same time, the representatives of the Shor Party will continue to exercise their mandates, but as independent deputies, without the right to affiliate with other parliamentary factions. The examination process was initiated based on a notification submitted to the CC by the government.
