AȘM: Our true path - one that takes us to Europe
Chisinau, May 19 /MOLDPRES/- The Academy of Sciences of Moldova supports the initiative of President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu to convene National Assembly on May 21 to support the integration of our state into the European Union.
A letter of support, signed by the Presidium of the AȘM and the Consultative Council of Academicians, reads that this is a solution, imperatively required by today's concrete realities and by the historical chance that is offered to us: to be part of the great family of European peoples and to ensure a prosperous future for us.
"We mention that the European idea did not come from outside, it was shaped and promoted by the great personalities of our Romanian nation: Titu Maiorescu, Mihai Eminescu, Mihail Kogălniceanu, Vasile Alecsandri, Nicolae Iorga, Constantin Noica and Constantin Stere who saw in Europe an example of "good order", "culture", "respect for personality".
The letter was posted on the institution's Facebook page.
