Embassy of Azerbaijan in Chisinau marks Victory Day, State Flag Day

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Chisinau has organized a festivity dedicated to marking two important dates for the Azerbaijani people: Victory Day, celebrated annually on November 8, and State Flag Day, marked on November 9. The event brought together government officials, diplomats accredited in Moldova, personalities from various fields and members of the Azerbaijani Diaspora.

The ceremony started with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Moldova, followed by a moment of silence in memory of those who had lost their lives defending and maintaining the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Moldova Ulvi Bakhshaliyev emphasized the importance of these days for the Azerbaijani people, noting that the victory in the 44-day Patriotic War signifies not only a military triumph, but also a reaffirmation of national values and international law.

“Victory Day is not just a triumph of national will, but also a significant contribution to establishing justice, peace and stability in the region. As a result of the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijan restored its territorial integrity, justice and international law,” declared Ambassador Ulvi Bakhshaliyev.

The diplomat added that President Ilham Aliyev's actions had reconfirmed Azerbaijan’s peace agenda, oriented towards regional stability and development.

Present at the event, State Secretary of Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs  Sergiu Mihov appreciated Azerbaijan’s efforts in promoting peace and stability in the region, reiterating Moldova's constant support for the territorial integrity of this country.

“Moldova has consistently supported and continues to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The relations between the two countries are developing in the spirit of sincere friendship and active cooperation. We hope to continue the practice of bilateral visits at the same pace, including at the highest level,” Sergiu Mihov said.

He also expressed hope that Azerbaijan would support Moldova in diversifying its energy supply sources, a sector of strategic interest for Chisinau.

President of the Congress of Azerbaijanis from Moldova Elchin Bayramov emphasized that members of the Azerbaijani community from Moldova solemnly and proudly celebrated these two symbolic days for the history and national identity of the Azerbaijani people.

During the reception, the painting exhibition titled, We Have Returned, signed by artist Narmina Najafova, a member of the UNESCO International Association of Visual Arts, was inaugurated. The public could also admire works by other renowned painters from Azerbaijan. On the occasion of the two celebrations, the Azerbaijan Embassy also organized a photo exhibition dedicated to historical events that marked the country's path to unity and peace.
