Travel alert for Japan due to approaching tropical storm Typhoon No. 6
The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Japan has issued a travel alert for Moldovan citizens in the context of the approaching tropical storm “Typhoon No. 6,” which could cause heavy rainfall and strong winds in several regions of Japan.
According to information provided by the Japanese authorities, the meteorological phenomenon is expected to affect a wide area of Japan during the period of June 2–3.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the storm will move toward the northeast and approach the islands of Kyushu and Shikoku, as well as the Kinki, Tokai, and Kanto-Koshin regions on the island of Honshu.
Experts warn of the risk of strong winds, high waves, landslides, flooding in low-lying areas, and rising river levels—phenomena that may endanger public safety.
The Embassy recommends that Moldovan citizens located in the affected areas constantly follow official information and comply with the instructions of local authorities.
In emergency situations, citizens of the Republic of Moldova in Japan can request consular assistance at the Embassy’s phone number: +81 80 8850 7372.
