Embassy of Moldova in USA to be temporarily relocated following last December fire
The Embassy of Moldova in the United States of America will be temporarily relocated. This measure was necessary following the fire on December 15, 2025, which affected the embassy’s building.
The location will be changed starting January 5 for a period of 3–5 months. Thus, the diplomatic mission will be relocated to the following address: 1015 15th Street, NW, 6th floor, Washington, DC 20005.
The costs associated with using the temporary space are covered by the insurance company. Meanwhile, repair work is currently being conducted at the embassy building.
For further information, citizens can contact the embassy at the email address: washington@mfa.gov.md. In case of consular emergencies, individuals can call: +1 (202) 390 0392.
On December 15, 2025, a short circuit occurred under the roof of the Embassy of Moldova in the USA, in a hard-to-reach area, which resulted in a small fire. The embassy immediately alerted emergency services and firefighters promptly intervened, avoiding serious consequences.
