
Flow of people crossing Moldova's borders down by 70 percent in 2020 than in previous year
Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/- The cross-border flow of people registered by the Border Police in 2020 shows a decrease of 70% compared to 2019.
The data were made public at a review meeting chaired by the leadership of the General Inspectorate of Border Police, with the participation of Minister of Internal Affairs Pavel Voicu.
Compared to the similar period of the previous year, the number of cases of forged documents increased by 75%; violation of the state border regime - 39%; violation of the border area regime 23%; violation of border crossing rules 57%; number of contraventions found by 209%.
The meeting also addressed topics in the areas of: projects and external assistance, border control and crossing, risk analysis, operational and human resources management, special investigations and prosecution, canine activity, international cooperation and promoting the institution's image.
