Fraudulent scheme to bring car parts into Moldova uncovered by law enforcement
Chisinau, Dec. 8 / MOLDPRES /- Officials from the National Investigations Directorate of the National Investigation Inspectorate have been investigating for two months the illegal activity of two men who were selling new and used car parts, brought into the country through the Transnistrian region.
They created a bank account in the name of one of them, on which financial means were transferred in advance. Subsequently, car parts were introduced into the country by evading customs control.
The men delivered the car parts all over the country, without issuing a receipt and without holding a document of origin. The value of the detected and seized parts is estimated at approximately 100 thousand lei.
According to the legislation in force, if the two are found guilty, they risk a fine from 7,500 to 10 thousand lei.
