International operation JAD Mobile 6: Police detected over 450 vehicle traffic violations
Chisinau, Oct. 24 /MOLDPRES/- Over 450 vehicle traffic violations were detected by the law enforcement officers during the international operation JAD Mobile 6, held on October 9 -20 in Moldova.
Its goal is to prevent, detect and combat the illicit traffic of means of transport. Thus, 51 mixed teams formed by experts from the National Public Security Inspectorate, the Border Police and FRONTEX were operating in the country.
During the operation, they detected a means of transport sought by the French authorities; 15 cases on possession, use of false official documents; three cases on the use of non-existent official documents; 151 misdemeanors for violating the rules regarding the vignette, with fines amounting to 381 thousand lei (over 19 thousand euros); 289 contraventions on violating road traffic regulations, with fines of 116,800 lei; four cases of drunk driving.
At the international level, experts from 25 EU and non-EU countries participated in the operation, as well as representatives of FRONTEX, INTERPOL and EUROPOL, who facilitated the verification of suspicious means of transport in national and international databases.
