Moldova's Ministry of Defense denies misinformation about ''deceased Moldovan soldiers'' in Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense denies false information appearing on Telegram and TikTok channels affiliated with pro-Russian groups, claiming that ‘’10 soldiers and officers of the National Army were in Ukraine,’’ including reports that ‘’four were allegedly killed and two injured’’ following an attack by Russian forces.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the information represents deliberately spread falsehoods, aimed at ‘’inducing panic, undermining trust in the state leadership and generating confusion in a pre-electoral context.’’

The institution reiterated that ‘’no soldiers from the National Army are participating in military actions outside the territory of the Republic of Moldova.’’

In the context, authorities urged citizens to seek information only from official and reliable sources and not to contribute, through sharing or reactions, to the spread of falsehoods ‘’that endanger national safety and society’s cohesion.’’
