More route train departures ceased in Moldova
Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ – The nasty weather conditions on 13 May night, caused changes in the international railroad routes timetable. The announcement was made by the Moldovan Railroads’ (CFM) officials, who said that the local train traffic would be stopped for technical reasons on 14 May.
According to CFM’s data, on the Bender-Chisinau railway segment, at km 1513 and 1526, the waters washed the gravel layer under the railroad lines, which affected the embankment. Due to the existing dangers, 18 passengers from the Odessa-Chisinau race were taken from Tighina station last night by special vehicles belonging to CFM and transported to Chisinau. Also, Moscow-Chisinau passengers were picked up at the Bulboaca station and passengers who bought tickets for Chisinau-Moscow, were transported by CFM for free to Bulboaca stationб where they changed for train № 65, and continued their trip to the Russian capital.
According to the cited source, the rains caused damages on the Beltsi-Cainari railroad section, at km 23, 24 and 25. The water torrents washed the gravel in some places, even at a depth of about two metres.
The risk remedial work on the Tighina-Chisinau segment was completed and the trains were put into circulation.
