Opportunity for Moldova's rural villages to become known by participating in Best Tourism Villages 2025 competition
Moldova's rural villages have the opportunity to gain international recognition by participating in Best Tourism Villages 2025 competition, launched by UN Tourism. The contest, organized nationally by the National Tourism Office with the support of the Ministry of Culture aims to promote rural tourism as a factor for economic growth, sustainability, and cultural heritage preservation.
According to the National Tourism Office, selected villages will benefit from international recognition as top tourist destinations, support in preserving cultural and natural heritage, access to global networks, and the exchange of experiences with other tourist villages, as well as the opportunity to receive consultancy and improvements through the Upgrade Programme.
To participate, interested villages must submit a form to office@turism.gov.md and elena.balatel@turism.gov.md by May 16, 2025, at 4:00 PM. The necessary application documents are available online.
In 2023, the village of Văleni was designated as one of the best tourist villages in the world, as proposed by the Ministry of Culture and Văleni.
