
Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ – The police have detained three youths, including a minor, who are suspected of having committed a robber attack on 26 July evening at a bank branch in Durlesti. The information was confirmed today by the press agency officer of the General Inspectorate of Police Maria Betivu.
"Just in a few hours, the alleged attackers were detained by police. More special work teams and patrol crews began searching both within the territory of the capital, and in districts of the country. Thus, a mixed patrol crew found the car in which moved the robbers and that was announced in the search. The car was driving a young man who is 24 years old, native of a village in the district Straseni. On him, the security forces found five thousand lei, with the seal of the bank," stated Betivu.
At the same time, the quoted source said that "the investigation officers, who were involved in development of some special measures in a village in Cahul, detained the main suspects, which were hiding at the residence of one of them. The individuals proved to be a minor aged 17, originally from Cahul, and a young man aged 19 years from Nisporeni. Upon them, it was found the bag with the stolen money, about 370 thousand lei, an illegally kept gun, balaclavas, gloves, and clothes that they were wearing when committed the attack".
The suspects were detained for 72 hours. They risk to be punished by imprisonment for a term of 8-10 years.
Police is investigating the case to determine all the circumstances of the robbery and the involvement of other persons.
