Prosecutors inform about results of raids made in file on preparation of mass riots in Moldova
Chisinau, 11 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prosecutors have raised over 250,000 lei (about 12,500 euros) following searches made in Chisinau and Hancesti today, in the file on the preparation of mass riots.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG), the raised money was accumulated from illicit activities. The financial means were to be used for the luring, carriage and remuneration of people instigated to organize mass riots.
At the same time, during raids, law-enforcers raised: rough copies with contact phones of people participating in protests, mobile phones, one unregistered pneumatic gun, pyrotechnic articles and vegetal mass resembling hemp.
The file regards the preparation of mass riots starting from 18 September 2022 till present. The concerned people are suspected of having organized the transportation of young people, including earlier convicted ones, from various regions of Moldova to Chisinau, in order to commit new offences.
If found guilty, the suspects run the risk of being sentenced to 4-8 years of imprisonment.
