Rector re-elected at Technical University of Moldova

Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/- University professor, PhD Viorel Bostan was re-elected yesterday as rector of the Technical University of Moldova.

Viorel Bostan was re-elected after 575 votes (89.42%) cast by 643 voters present at the vote (out of 713 registered on the lists). In his first term, the UTM head was elected on November 12, 2015.

The Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University in Chisinau also has a new rector. This is Alexandra Barbăneagră, elected with the participation of the academic community of the institution on December 9.

At the State University of Moldova, the General Assembly of voters failed to elect new rector of the institution. The second round of the competition will take place on December 16 between Igor Sharov, former Minister of Education, Culture and Research, and Florentin Paladi, dean of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering.
