Resident of central Moldova district detained by National Anticorruption Centre, after attempting to offer money for votes
Officers of the National Anticorruption Center (CNA), together with prosecutors, have detained a resident of the central Anenii Noi district, suspected of attempting to influence voters’ choices by offering money and goods, in the context of the parliamentary elections from 28 September 2025.
According to the investigation, the suspect was allegedly involved in recruiting voters and distributing funds meant for electoral bribery, with the aim of favoring a political party.
During the searches carried out, the authorities seized documents, data storage devices and other relevant evidence.
The suspect is to be placed in the CNA pre-trial detention facility.
