Road traffic takes place in difficult conditions in Moldova; police advise drivers to avoid non-essential travels
Road traffic is taking place in difficult conditions in more regions of Moldova. In the context, the police are advising drivers to avoid travels that are not absolutely necessary.
According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), the road surface is becoming slippery, and fog is recorded on some routes, reducing visibility.
“Therefore, it is important to reduce your speed and adapt it to road conditions. Keep a greater safety distance between vehicles. Avoid sudden braking and risky maneuvers. Use low-beam headlights and fog lights appropriately. Make sure that the vehicle is equipped in accordance with the winter season,” the IGP said.
Pedestrians are also urged to cross the street only after making sure they have been seen by drivers.
“Avoid walking on the carriageway. Exercise increased caution on slippery surfaces and near moving vehicles,” the IGP underlined.
Police patrols are continuously monitoring the traffic situation and are ready to intervene.
