Special measures of work taken at Moldova's border on Eastern Holidays period
Chisinau, 14 April /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 1,500 border policemen will be daily involved in activities of control and supervision at border on the Easter Holidays period. The Border Police instructed a string of special measures to ensure efficiency and at the border crossing points and exclude the security risks.
The monitoring of the situation at border is carried out 24/24 and if needed, the number of first-line employees and of the special control technology is supplemented, the institution noted.
If the flow of passengers and transport means increases, the infrastructure of the border crossing points will be used at the maximum, with the opening of additional lanes, as well as the redirecting of the traffic in the opposite direction of movement.
At the same time, on the Easter Holidays period, at the request of local public authorities (APL), local border crossing points placed on the Moldovan-Ukrainian segment will be opened, in order to facilitate the crossing of the border by the citizens of Moldova and Ukraine, who have permanent residence in the border administrative districts. They will be able to move based on internal passports (identity cards) or based on the overseas passports to go abroad. At the same time, they will be able to cross the border by transport means belonging to them, the charging capacity of which does not exceed 3.5 tons.
The Border Police comes up with certain recommendations for citizens who intend to cross the border on the next period. They are urged to verify the validity and status of the travel document. If a travel with minor children is planned, parents should make sure that they processed children’s documents. To avoid the formation of queues, the border institution recommends that the participants in the traffic diversify the choosing of the border crossing points, in order not to overburden only some of them.
In 2022, about 431,000 crossings of people, as well as over 115,000 crossings of transport means were registered on the period of the Easter Holiday and Easter of the Departed.
