
State Hydrometeorological Service, Meteo France International expand collaboration
Chisinau, July 10. /MOLDPRES/- Meteo France International (MFI) came up with the proposal to develop the state meteorological services in our country by creating a modern infrastructure with modern equipment, training and continuous assistance. Aspects of the Moldovan-French bilateral collaboration in the weather forecasting were addressed late last week at a meeting at the Ministry of the Environment with the participation of Jean-Sebastien Cases, vice president and David Bousigue, Area Sales Manager of Meteo France International.
The joint project aims to improve the quality of weather forecasts, to exercise a qualitative control of the integrated data system, which will encompass the needs and expectations regarding their collection, processing and communication. "Bilateral Moldovan-French collaboration will contribute to improving the quality of weather forecasts and warnings regarding adverse phenomena, in order to reduce the impact on people's lives and the possible damage to material assets", Aliona Rusnac, state secretary of the Ministry of the Environment said.
Jean-Sebastien Cases reiterated his willingness to provide the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) with the necessary information and support, for more effective collaboration in climate change projects.
MFI specializes in the implementation of weather service modernization projects around the world, providing expertise and technical solutions. The French company has been collaborating with SHS of Moldova for over 20 years.
