In a press release, TRM says that it received confirmations from multiple sources about the rebroadcasting of the public TV channel in the cable TV networks and describes this as a direct benefit of the citizens from the region.

„We welcome the resumption of the access of the population from this area to the programmes of Moldova 1, following an absence of over 30 years,’’ the TRM’s press release reads.

The rebroadcasting of the public TV channel Moldova 1 in the settlements on the left bank of Dniester contributes to the strengthening of the relations between the residents on both banks of Dniester, facilitating the access to truthful information and to a diversity of media contents. TRM commits to provide the consumers with high quality products.

„The Moldova 1 public television station will continue to provide a quality editorial bid, observing the highest professional standards. The residents of the Transnistrian region will have access to a reliable source of information, analyses, cultural and entertainment programmes, spread both in the Romanian and the Russian languages, as well as in languages of ethnic minorities,’’ TRM noted.

The Teleradio-Moldova Company stays committed in the efforts of extending the area of coverage on the entire territory of Moldova and will consider opportunity to open a correspondence point on the left bank of Dniester, in order to ensure a balance coverage of the realities in the region, the declaration also reads.

The broadcasting of the public television Moldova 1 in the Transnistrian region today morning was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian. The official voiced hope that ‘’a normal dialogue would be resumed with the Tiraspol leaders.’’

„We hope to resume a normal dialogue with the Tiraspol leaders, a dialogue which we have been expecting for much time,’’ Serebrian noted.

The ensuring of the access of the citizens on the left bank of Dniester to the Moldova 1 TV channel is important, in the context of the media sources available for the residents of the region, the spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, said.

„We will continue working, so that all Moldova’s citizens have access to objective information and of public interest, including on the fact that namely EU delivered humanitarian gas to the region,’’ Daniel Voda said.
