Truck access to Moldova temporarily suspended due to icy conditions
Access for heavy goods vehicles to the Republic of Moldova has been temporarily suspended, and road traffic is difficult across the entire country due to bad weather conditions, the authorities announce.
According to the Customs Service, traffic restrictions for trucks are currently in place on national roads, and authorization for entry into the country for heavy vehicles has been suspended. The measure was adopted to prevent risks to road safety in the context of slippery road conditions.
The authorities report that road traffic is complicated in several areas of the country, where some vehicles are forced to stop on national roads because movement is temporarily impossible. Police crews are deployed on the roads, monitoring the situation and intervening to clear traffic.
Drivers are urged to avoid non-essential travel, exercise maximum caution, and follow the instructions of police officers on the ground. Traffic for heavy goods vehicles and buses remains temporarily suspended until traffic conditions improve.
The authorities note that the situation is being monitored jointly with the relevant institutions, and the resumption of access and traffic will be announced later, depending on the evolution of weather conditions and the state of the roads. Road users are urged to obtain information exclusively from official sources.
