Unemployed people can receive grants to start business
Unemployed people can receive subsidies to start a business. Citizens registered as unemployed with one of the territorial subdivisions for employment (STOFM) who wish to start entrepreneurial activities are eligible to apply for it.
Raisa Dogaru, Director of the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) emphasized that the subsidy is given for setting up a new enterprise and creating at least one job for the unemployed beneficiary.
“The subsidy aims to cover the costs of registering the enterprise, as well as purchasing technological equipment, machinery and vehicles for transporting goods and passengers, work tools and installations, measuring, control and regulation devices and systems, computer equipment, and furniture for equipping the arranged premises. The grant covers 80% of the expenses needed to start a business and to equip the newly created workplace, but not more than 20 average monthly salaries in the economy for the previous year,” said Raisa Dogaru.
This year, ANOFM has allocated a budget of 9,450.0 thousand lei for this measure. “To apply for the grant program for starting a business, the unemployed person must submit, either in person or electronically to the STOFM, the following documents: the funding application, the business plan and the application form. The call is open until the allocated financial resources are exhausted,” stated Raisa Dogaru.
For additional information, individuals can call ANOFM Call Center at 0 8000 1000 or consult the Guide on accessing the Consultancy, assistance and support for starting a business.
