VIDEO // State institutions continue interventions across country’s localities

The Government will do everything possible to provide safe conditions for citizens. All services continue to intervene to ensure access to critical institutions. The message was conveyed by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, who visited several social institutions this morning to talk to those involved in anti-ice operations.

Among the institutions visited was Timofei Moșneaga Republican Clinical Hospital in Chișinău municipality, where the official discussed with and thanked the law enforcement and emergency structures for their involvement.

“I am proud of my compatriots, road workers, patrol police, as well as the National Army, which came out today to help citizens. We have just returned from the maternity hospital, where the access roads were cleared. I am glad that we helped our citizens travel safely, not only in Chișinău, but also in other localities such as Bălți, Comrat and Cahul. At the request of the authorities, all available services are intervening. Road workers, energy specialists, as well as doctors are on duty. Unfortunately, there have been many injury cases. I continue to urge all citizens to be cautious and vigilant. The Government will do everything possible to provide safe conditions for citizens,” specified Munteanu.

Over 400 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the National Road Administration are today carrying out actions to clear access routes to social institutions in 352 localities across the country. These include medical institutions, pharmacies, schools, kindergartens, underpasses and public transport stops.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, the Yellow Code for icy conditions remains in force until February 9, 20:00, and weather conditions may affect road traffic. In this context, the authorities urge citizens to avoid non-essential travel in order to prevent injuries.
