Weather alert: Yellow ice, black ice warning extended in Moldova for weekend too
The State Hydrometeorological Service has issued a Yellow Code weather warning for the entire territory of Moldova, due to an increased risk of ice and black ice. The warning is in effect from February 6, 2026, at 20:00 until February 9, 2026, at 20:00.
According to meteorologists, on this period, widespread ice will persist, and black ice will form on roads, which may create difficult driving conditions and increase the risk of traffic and pedestrian accidents.
Authorities recommend that drivers exercise increased caution, adjust their speed to road conditions, and avoid non-essential travel, while pedestrians are advised to be extra careful on sidewalks and in areas with a high risk of slipping.
