Corten Health Centre from south Moldova Taraclia district to be renovated with Japan's assistance

Chisinau, 29 August /MOLDPRES/ - Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Yamada Yoichiro, along with the director of the Corten Health Centre Medical and Sanitary Public Institution from the southern Taraclia district, Diana Ceavdari, on 28 August signed a grant worth 68,657 dollars, financed by the government of Japan within the Kusanone Programme.      

Works of renovation at the first floor of the Health Centre, especially for windows, doors, ceilings, walls, floors, electric energy, heating, sewerage, will be carried out with the assistance received. The IMSP Corten Health Centre is the only primary medical unity of the village and plays an important role in the maintaining of the health of the local residents and through these renovations the safety and hygiene of the medical unit will be maintained.   

Due to the Kusanone programme, the government of Japan backs the efforts of the public authorities in the development of the safe medical units and quick providing of the treatment necessary.   

Ambassador Yamada welcomed the project proposal of the IMSP Corten Health Centre and thanked the professionals in the health centre for their uninterrupted effort for the benefit of the society. Also, the diplomat referred to the negotiations on Moldova’s accession to EU. ‘’We want to congratulate Moldova for having started a travel to a bright future. The conditions for people’s health will improve, as Moldova advanced to the accession to the European Union. The Japanese government continues to cooperate with Moldova,’’ the ambassador noted.    

The Kusanone programme of grants for human security was launched in Moldova in 2008. So far, Japan has provided non-refundable financing worth 7.4 million dollars for 90 projects (excepting the new project) in the fields of health, education and public utilities.
