ELECTIONS 2025 //Coalition for Unity and Welfare of Moldova starts electoral campaign for parliamentary elections
The Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB) has launched its electoral campaign for the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28. CUB members claim they provide a 'competent' alternative to the current government and assert that Moldova needs a plurality of voices. The party's slogan is We Move Moldova Forward.
‘’We are embarking on a campaign journey that must prove our resilience and our fight for a Moldova we deserve and want to build. CUB represents the force of a sound balance on the political stage of Moldova. We can provide Moldova a competent, honest and responsible alternative. We are not here to repeat others' mistakes. We move Moldova forward!’’ CUB president Igor Munteanu said.
The CUB leader enumerated ten priorities from the party's electoral programme. Among them, there are the promotion of private initiative and a free economy to industrialize and reopen local enterprises; providing resources and strengthening energy independence; supporting rural entrepreneurship; recovering research centers and reopening closed universities; partnership with the Diaspora.
Rodica Grama, CUB vice president: ‘’People are leaving Moldova. CUB is made up of individuals who have entered politics not for political gains, not for positions. Most of us have successfully achieved our goals in our respective professions. We made this decision out of a wish to stay in the country, to be here. We come with solutions knowing the real, concrete problems from our fields. We know how to bring about change.’’
CUB is a center-right political party based on the ideas of social liberalism. The formation supports a model of change focused on supporting private initiatives.
On August 29, the electoral campaign for parliamentary elections started in Moldova. The Central Electoral Commission registered 21 electoral competitors, including four blocs, 13 parties and four independent candidates.
