Eight personalities of Moldova to get National Prize in 2024
Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ - The National Prize this year will be got by eight outstanding personalities from Moldova. Among the laureates, there are the director general and the chief conductor of the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Nicolae Dohotaru, sportsman Serghei Tarnovschi and writer Nicolae Negru. The National Prize consists from diploma, medal and by 100,000 lei for each winner. The project on the awarding of this Prize is to be approved by the government at a meeting on 27 November.
Thus, a folklorist, writer, journalist, People’s Artist Maria Mocanu got the prize for outstanding contribution to the promotion of the national values.
Another laureate is fine artist Sergiu Galben, who will receive the prize for his prodigious work in the field of fine arts and carrying out of works of true value, with remarkable impact in the promotion of the cultural values nationally and internationally.
Ion Ciutac, PhD in medical sciences, university lecturer, coordinator for the emergency surgery at the Holy Trinity Municipal Clinical Hospital is another laureate of the National Prize.
According to the project, another prize will go to Denis Nica, PhD in physical sciences, university lecturer, Iurie Perlin Theoretical Physics Department of the Moldovan State University.
Writer Negru Nicolae, author of theatre plays, political pundit, editorialist of the Ziarul National website gets the National Prize for the national message and for the deepness of his literary, dramaturgical and journalistic works.
Serghei Tarnovschi, Merited Master of Sports, who participated and got medal at the Olympic Games, world champion and medal winner at European games/championships , triple university world champion, professional sportsman.
A producer and distributor of films, Sergiu Cumatrenco, was awarded the prize for special merits and artistic contribution to the promotion of the cinematographic art in Moldova.
The National prize is annually awarded by the government as a token of gratitude for special results, with major impact on the scientific progress, which considerably contributed to the promotion of Moldova’s image nationally and internationally.
The National Prize was established in 2012 and during years, the distinctions have been awarded to more outstanding personalities of Moldova.
