
First grants for cattle breeders of Moldova provided through AGGRI Project
Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/ - Three beneficiaries of grants provided through the Agriculture Governance, Growth, and Resilience (AGGRI) Project, meant for the sector of dairy cattle, have signed contracts on financing. They are to implement investment projects worth 5 million dollars, of which 2.6 million dollars will be provided as grants.
The AGGRI Project is financed by the World Bank.
The projects approved include the construction and endowment of stables with modern equipment, the equipment of some activities at farms with robots, setting of warehouses with fodder and the holes with manure according to the international standards, purchasing of equipment for processing milk, as well as the procurement of 580 Holstein breed cattle.
On the occasion of the contracts on grant, Deputy PM, Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vladimir Bolea and the director of the AGGRI Project, Liviu Gumovschi, encouraged farmers to invest in this important sector for the development of the agriculture.
The next evaluation meeting of the Commission is planned for 20 September, when seven files for application will be analyzed, with an overall value of projects of 12.2 million dollars, of which 5.16 million dollars represents grants requested.
The Agriculture Governance, Growth, and Resilience Project supports the development of Moldova’s agricultural sector and the modernization of farms, providing grants for investments which regard the development, enhancement of the productivity and sustainability of the animal husbandry sector.
