Prices for petrol, diesel to continue decreasing in Moldova in next week-end
Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has established lower prices for fuels for the next week-end. On 9-11 July, the COR 95 petrol will cost 32.13 lei/litre (-0.17 lei) and the diesel oil – 30.01 lei/litre (-0.37 lei).
The highest prices for oil products, established by ANRE, follows the tendency of decrease in quotations at international exchanges. ‘’The price for the Brent crude oil on 7 July 2022 maintained, according to data posted by Trading Economics, at about 104 dollars per one barrel and according to forecasts, it is to end this week at around this value. Nevertheless, the petrol prices are still increasing by about 35 per cent against early 2022; the main reason for this is that the post-Covid global economic recovery coincided with the disturbance of the traditional markets and logistic chains because of the Russian aggression in Ukraine,’’ the Agency said.
At the same time, the average value of the Platts quotations dropped by 57.8 dollars/ton for petrol (4.3 per cent) and by 124.6 dollars/ton (9.3 per cent) for diesel on 8 July 2022 against 24 June 2022. This fact clearly determines the process of gradual diminution of the pump prices for the principal standard-type oil products (COR petrol 95 and Diesel).
The Brent oil prices provide just a benchmark and do not represent a basis for taking decisions on trading fuels. The price for the derived oil products, such as petrol and diesel, is correlated with the quotations daily established by the S&P Global Platts American company.
„On the last period, because of the changes taking place on the world market of fuels, the quotations of the Brent petrol and the Platts quotations have become more and more interdependent, as the prices are dictated exclusively by the demand and supply on market.’’ ANRE also said.
