
CIS - good platform to strengthen cooperation, Moldovan speaker says
Chisinau, Nov. 26 / MOLDPRES /- "The Commonwealth of Independent States is a good platform for strengthening trade, economic and sectoral cooperation, increasing the volume of mutual trade, using the potential of transport and transit, industrial and investment." Speaker Igor Grosu made the statement today at the opening of the 53rd plenary session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly (AIP CIS) in online format, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
According to the speaker, the directions confirm Moldova's position on promoting a balanced foreign policy and developing mutually beneficial relations with all foreign partners, starting from the vital interests of citizens.
"The practical connection of the free trade areas of the EU and the CIS is one of the important competitive advantages of our country," he said.
Grosu spoke in favor of overcoming the common challenges, pleading for a new impetus for cooperation within the organization, in full accordance with the expectations and interests of citizens.
Igor Grosu participated for the first time in the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly as Speaker.
In December, the Commonwealth of Independent States will mark 30th anniversary.
