
Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Days of Moldova’s Parliament, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the legislative body’s foundation, were launched today evening, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.
The parliament’s square is festively decorated and illuminated and two gigantic figures – 30 – were set in front of the parliament building. The figure means the parliament’s activity period, which Moldova will mark on 23 May 2021.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the legislative institution will carry out a string of actions on the next period. Thus, an exhibition comprising 30 photos from the history of the parliamentarianism is inaugurated on the ground floor; a part of the photos is dedicated to the Independence Parliament.
Also, Moldova’s parliament provokes young people with ages between 16 and 18 years to describe, in 101 words, the work of an MP. The contest of mini-essays will be held on the period 23 May - 23 June 2021. The young people who will be on the first three positions will be invited to participate in the foundation meeting of the parliament of the 11th legislative period, due to be elected at the ballot due on 11 July.
The parliament speaker signed more letters of thanks to the civil servants who work at the institution since the foundation of the parliament and carry out a prodigious and irreproachable work.
The parliament will virtually open its doors for visitors on 23 May, on the parliament day. Guided virtual tours of the most important halls of the parliament will be launched on social networks and two epoch vehicles from the parliament’s garage are displayed for public in front of the parliament.
Events of informing will be organized in various regions of Moldova through the parliament’s territorial information offices.
On 23 May 1991, under a decision by the Supreme Soviet of the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic (RSSM) of the 12 legislative period, set up following democratic elections, RSSM turned in Republic of Moldova and the Supreme Soviet became the parliament of Moldova.
