Discussions with farmers, cereals producing companies, competent associations continue at Moldovan government
Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ - Discussions with representatives of cereals producing companies, exporters and farmers’ associations from Moldova, chaired by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, have continued at the government’s headquarters. The official referred to the actions undertaken by the cabinet and the economic measures needed to financially support the farmers, open new temporary transport ways and identify more export destinations, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
For his part, Deputy PM, Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vladimir Bolea touched upon the mechanism of monitoring the imports and presented statistics data showing that no inflow of cereals has been made in Moldova on the last days.
„The main problem on which we should focus now is the financial situation of the farmers. Therefore, we de-block the present situation at the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) through supplementing by 75 per cent of the number of employees who assess the farmers’ files, in order to cover a part of the companies’ expenses through subsidies, use of the values added tax (VAT) and the excise duty. We also consider the opening of a terminal for stocking cereals in Ungheni,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
In the end, the participants in the discussion agreed on maintaining a permanent dialogue between the government and farmers through the holding of new meetings to assess the findings of imports’ monitoring and identify solutions to the problems faced by the producers.
