
Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets Minister for European Union Affairs of Sweden
Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a meeting with Minister of European Union Affairs of Sweden Jessika Roswall, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAREIE) press service has reported.
The officials’ discussions were focused on the process of Moldova’s accession to the European Union and the importance of speeding up this process, including through the starting of the negotiations on accession till the end of this year.
„I offered thanks to Mrs. Minister for the constant support provided by Sweden during its Presidency at the EU Council. This period was marked by significant progress for Moldova and now we are prepared to submit our updated contributions to the EU institutions till 21 June.
Through our close cooperation and the common commitment, we constantly advance in the process of accession to the European Union. We will continue working together, in order to ensure a better and more prosperous future for Moldova’s citizens, within the great European family,’’ the Moldovan official said.
