Head of State discussed with International Media Support representatives ways to strengthen media resilience and support independent press
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu held a meeting today with representatives of International Media Support (IMS), an international organization that supports the development of independent media, media freedom and safety of journalists. The discussions focused on strengthening the informational resilience of the media sector in the Republic of Moldova, combating disinformation, and supporting a free and professional media environment.
The Head of State appreciated IMS’s contribution to reinforcing resilience against informational manipulation and to supporting journalism in the public interest. The interlocutors also discussed the continuation of cooperation for modernizing the media legislation framework in line with good European practices, as well as the importance of a transparent and inclusive reform process that would strengthen press freedom in our country.
