Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu had a discussion today with Romanian MEPs Siegfried Mureșan, Nicu Ștefănuță, Victor Negrescu and Dan Barna, during his first official visit to Brussels.

The Prime Minister thanked the Romanian MEPs for their consistent support for the Republic of Moldova in European institutions, including by promoting resolutions and initiatives aimed at the security, resilience and advancement of our country's European integration agenda.

“Romania is the staunchest supporter of the Republic of Moldova in all European capitals and institutions. Our friends in the European Parliament represent our voice, interests, and consistently keep the subject of our country's European integration on the agenda of European institutions,” said Munteanu.

The Romanian MEPs reaffirmed the support for Moldova’s EU accession process, highlighting the importance of strengthening democratic institutions and close cooperation between Chișinău and Bucharest. The European Parliament will collaborate even more closely with the Republic of Moldova due to the opening of a permanent office of the institution in Chișinău on 7 November.

Officials noted the special relationship between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, which was further emphasized during Munteanu's recent visit to Bucharest.
