Protocol on movement of freight trains through Transnistria extended by 6 months
Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/- The Additional Protocol to the protocol decision on the principles of full resumption of freight train traffic through the Transnistrian region of 30 March 2012 has been extended until 31 December 2020, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
Similar protocols were signed on 26 September 2012, 23 September 2013, 24 December 2014, 14 March 2015, 30 December 2016, 29 December 2017 and on 27 December 2018, 4 June 2019 and 27 December 2019.
The protocol provides for the further application of the customs clearance mechanism at Bender-2 (Varniţa village) and Râbniţa stations of goods transported by rail through the Transnistrian region, with the implementation of the one stop control principle and ensuring the free movement of people, goods and services.
In this context, the Bureau for Reintegration reminds that a similar period of 6 months was extended for setting petroleum products through the Novosaviţcaia-Cuciurgan border crossing with the possibility of customs clearance of the products at Bender 2 customs post, being approved for this purpose at the cabinet meeting of 24 June 2020 a decision that relevant amendments were made to the government decision No1232 of 9 November 2016 on issues of entering oil products through the eastern border.
