Revocation of Moldovan president's Decree No. 418-IX from April 11, 2022, on granting of pardon

The Office of the President of Moldova announces the decision to revoke Decree No. 418-IX from April 11, 2022, which provides for the granting of a pardon. The decision is based on the emergence of new circumstances communicated by the competent authorities.

It should be noted that, during 2021, pardon requests were submitted to the Presidency of Moldova by the convicted person, as well as by the Prosecutor General’s Office. On the recommendation of the commission for problems of pardoning convicted persons under the President of Moldova, the person was pardoned in 2022.

Following the examination of documents and additional information that became known later, the decision was taken to revoke the aforementioned Decree.

The Presidency of Moldova reaffirms its commitment to act with transparency and in strict accordance with the law, whenever new elements arise that require the reassessment of certain decisions.
