Moldovan PM meets Ambassador of Japan
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has had a meeting with the newly accredited Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Kazuyuki Takeuchi, to whom he conveyed congratulations on the occasion of taking up his mandate. The officials highlighted the friendly relations between the two countries and discussed opportunities to expand the Moldovan-Japanese cooperation.
During the meeting, the PM also emphasized that Japan was an important partner of Moldova, providing constant support for the development of the country through projects aimed at modernizing the medical sector, education, agriculture, infrastructure, the energy sector and strengthening institutional capacities, among others.
For his part, the diplomat noted that Japan would continue to support the economic development of Moldova, underlining the interest of Japanese companies in investing in the country.
The sides also emphasized the benefits of Moldova’s participation in last year’s World Expo in Osaka and discussed new opportunities for promoting the country.
Last year, the volume of bilateral Moldovan-Japanese trade amounted to over 117 million US dollars, up by 14 per cent compared to 2024.
