CEC launches campaign to prevent disinformation

Central Electoral Commission (CEC) is launching a campaign to prevent disinformation titled "7 ways to recognize disinformation". The initiative is being launched in the context of the upcoming parliamentary elections on 28 September.

The electoral authority notes that as the parliamentary elections approach, fake information is spreading more intensively.


"To protect every voter, CEC is launching the campaign "7 ways to recognize disinformation". In the coming days, we will share with you 7 simple and practical tips to help you identify and combat fake news. Join the effort to protect the vote and democracy. Together we can stop manipulation and ensure a fair and transparent electoral process," CEC emphasized.


Recently, several state institutions have signaled fake information spreading in the public space. In this context, individuals are urged to get their information only from official sources and to verify the authenticity of information appearing on various channels and platforms.
