Moldovan Democratic Party, Communist Party to hold consultations
Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/-The Democratic Party (PDM) today announced it would hold consultations with the Communist Party of Moldova (PCRM). The Liberal Party (PL), Moldova European People's Party (PPEM), as well as independent MPs were informed of this decision.
According to PDM, consultations are meant to reveal to what extent Democrats may count on the parliament's wide support to elect the next president, review the Constitution and vote draft laws important for Moldova’s EU integration course.
A meeting between the PDM and representatives of the rest of the pro-European parties to discuss the results of these consultations could possibly take place tonight.
PDM leader Marian Lupu had previously said that pro-European parties would probably meet today to negotiate the creation of a new parliamentary majority and a new government. The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) will not participate in the meeting.
