Moldovan, Romanian officials approach cooperation
Romania remains the most sincere and firm supporter of the Republic of Moldova, on all levels, especially regarding state modernization, reforms, and European integration. Cotroceni leader Nicușor Dan made the statement after his meeting with Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
“I welcomed today at Cotroceni Palace, on his first foreign visit since taking office, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu. Romania remains the most sincere and firm supporter of the Republic of Moldova, on all levels, especially regarding state modernization, reforms, and European integration,” declared Nicușor Dan after discussions with Alexandru Munteanu.
The President of Romania added that he encouraged the new Government in Chișinău to act decisively and responsibly, focusing on economic growth, the well-being of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, and European Union integration.
Munteanu stated “we have a unique opportunity,” emphasizing that for the Republic of Moldova, the European path is “not just a strategic direction but a movement for survival and protection.”
After the meeting, Munteanu affirmed that he discussed with Nicușor Dan about the special relationship between the two states, “founded on the indivisible bond between the people on both banks of the Prut.”
“Romania has always been by our side, and now it offers us confidence and support on our European path. We continue together the projects that create more and more bridges between people: energy interconnection, common infrastructure, free movement, economic, educational, and cultural cooperation. We have a clear agenda for the next 10 years and a shared commitment to deliver tangible results for the citizens on both banks of the Prut,” emphasized Munteanu.
This is the first foreign visit of Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu since taking office.
According to the visit schedule, the Prime Minister will have a meeting at Victoria Palace with his counterpart, Ilie Bolojan. The two officials will discuss topics on the bilateral agenda, focusing on joint projects with a direct impact on the citizens of both states. After the meeting, Alexandru Munteanu and Ilie Bolojan will hold press statements.
