MP Alex Trubca resigns
Alex Trubca, a deputy of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), announced that he has submitted his resignation, explaining that the issue related to his economic activity affects the image and credibility of the party he belongs to.
In a post, Trubca specified that the decision was made in the context of checks carried out by the National Integrity Authority (ANI), which he says he himself requested.
“Today I have submitted my resignation from the position of deputy. Given that the issue of my economic activity affects the image and credibility of the entire team, I cannot act otherwise. Everything I have said publicly remains valid. ANI is to complete the verification that I myself requested and to issue its decision,” the deputy stated.
Alex Trubca said that his resignation represents an act of responsibility and that he hopes to contribute to strengthening integrity standards in public life.
“I hope that my resignation will raise the standards of the political class, for all dignitaries in this country, current and future. When there is even a question of morality or ethics, you step down from office. This is how I understand things and this is how I act,” he mentioned.
The deputy also said that, after five years in office on behalf of PAS, he believes that the debates on the ethics and morality of officials’ economic activities reflect a change compared to the issues that dominated the public agenda a few years ago.
At the same time, Trubca noted that he will remain a member of the Party of Action and Solidarity and will continue his political activity within the party, supporting the goal of the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union.
