Another 2,000 families of Moldova buy new refrigerators, washing machines through the EcoVoucher Programme
Over two thousand vouchers were utilized on April 14 - 23, during the current session of the EcoVoucher Programme, for replacing old household appliances with new ones. Beneficiaries used vouchers worth 6,000 lei and purchased energy-efficient refrigerators and washing machines, which will allow cutting their energy invoices.
The state-offered voucher covered up to 70 per cent of the purchase price of the appliances, with 923 refrigerators and 1,093 washing machines being acquired.
The current session of the Household Appliance Voucher Programme is taking place as of April 14 till May 4, 2025. During this session, over 9,300 vouchers will be distributed.
The program is developed by the government of Moldova, with the support of the European Union, to help families replace their old and energy-consuming appliances with new and energy-efficient ones. The present edition of the programme is funded by Norway, with a budget of 7.5 million euros.
The programme aims to reduce household electricity costs, increase home comfort, and promote sustainable consumption. During the first session of 2025, conducted on February 26 - March 23, 5,119 vouchers were redeemed, allowing beneficiary families to purchase 2,283 energy-efficient refrigerators and 2,836 energy-efficient washing machines.
To receive a voucher, the beneficiary's dwelling must be registered on the www.compensatii.gov.md platform and meet the eligibility criteria. In this edition, priority for voucher’s allocation is given to families with a large number of children and those with a significant number of people over the age of 63.
Vouchers are automatically distributed during the sessions and beneficiaries receive notification of their availability via SMS, email and their personal account on www.compensatii.gov.md. To redeem the voucher, the beneficiary will select the appropriate appliance - by type and corresponding energy efficiency class in one of the partner shops, present an ID, a photo of the old appliance and sign the consumer’s declaration.
