Chisinau general mayor says epidemiological situation unpredictable in Moldovan capital
Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall has asked the Health Ministry for a permanent coordination for the gradual activation of other medical spaces, including in the republican hospitals, in order to treat the patients sick with coronavirus.
At a today’s online meeting of the city hall’s services, the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, demanded coordination with the competent ministry, in order to be able to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. ‘’The number of coronavirus cases is worryingly increasing from one week to another and one third of the overall number of Covid cases are recorded in the Chisinau city. We believe that the Health Ministry must more actively get involved, through updated clinical protocols in patients’ treatment at home; I mean here the patients with light forms and the medium seriousness ones,’’ the mayor said.
Ceban also demanded that the sorting of the suspect patients or confirmed with COVID-19 should be more efficient. ‘’The patients’ sorting must be more efficient, in order not to hospitalize patients with light forms of coronavirus, namely so as not to fill the hospitals. The municipal hospitals, activated as COVID hospitals, become too small pretty quickly.’’
Ion Ceban described the epidemiological situation from the Chisinau municipality as unpredictable.
