
CMC allocated 20 million lei for liquidation of consequences of bad weather
Chisinau, August 18 /MOLDPRES/- The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) today replenished the reserve fund of the capital with 20 million lei (about 1 million euros), for the liquidation of the consequences of the bad weather on August 9. The decision was approved in the extraordinary meeting of the CMC.
General Mayor Ion Ceban declared that the damages caused to educational institutions are about 10 million lei, and those caused by falling trees amount to about 1 million lei.
"We are still working in the field to carry out the expertise. The amount of damages is 20,770,000 lei, but this may increase", said the mayor.
Following the approval of the decision, the Management Commission of the Reserve Fund will ensure the distribution of the means to remove the consequences of the rain and strong wind. Among the works to be carried out are: the repair of the roofs of the residential blocks, of the flooded apartments, of the electrical network, of the affected road segments, as well as the rehabilitation of the playgrounds for children, etc.
